The Female ‘Buy It Cheap, Wear It High’ Syndrome
Taste and preference is one factor that will always dictate to and influence our purchasing power. What normally goes through the minds of men when they see neatly dressed women is that they might have bought those fancy attires from one of the most expensive boutiques in the country.

But, one secret is that some women have coined the “wonyi no low nhye no high”, directly translated, ‘buy it low and wear it high' ideology everywhere they find themselves. Also referred to as bend down boutique or ‘phose', these smart ladies go to wayside cloth vendors and buy these affordable clothes, neatly wash, iron and ‘perfume it well well'. After all these, you will see them wearing these clothes like they're worth millions of cedis whilst some of them cost as low as Gh¢2.
Well, it's a smart way of saving money but becomes only problematic when some slay queens elevate these affordable clothes to luxurious ones.
