The New Crop Of Artistes Saved Our Dying Music Industry – Andy Dosty

DJ and radio personality, Andy Dosty talks about the new crop of musicians. Moreover, he stated that the new crop of musicians are holding the fort down for the music industry.

He spoke about this in an interview on the Drive talk on Atinka 104.7 FM by DJ Candyman.

Furthermore, the host asked Dosty his take on the new crop of artistes. Therefore, he stated emphatically that the new crop of artistes including Kuame Eugene, Kidi, King Promise, Adina, and the likes are the saviours of our music industry.

He stated that the aforementioned artistes shot to the limelight and took over the waves. They did this during an era when the Ghana music industry was down the drain. This was due to the infiltration of songs by Nigerian artistes.

“You would recall that we got to a point in time in the country where only Nigerian songs were making waves, DJs all over the country were keen as mustard to air Nigerian songs until the new crop of artistes came ” 

Moreover, Dosty dissociated himself from the group of DJs and media personalities who hitherto played Nigerian songs solely. He added that he is however happy that the status quo finally changed because songs from the young sensational artistes

“But as it stands, everywhere you go, your hear people play songs of these new artistes which I think is very encouraging and great”
