THE PERKS OF AN AFRICAN ELECTION

“In the jungle, the quiet jungle
The lion sleeps tonight”~ The Lion King song track

A new dispensation it is……Nigeria has decided and who are we to say Nay! To the gallant men and women who went out there to vote; kudos…even those who didn’t vote for Goodluck.

The General resumes the pole as the Marshall of the field and will lead the line for Africa’s giant. The vision is clear…he’s said it all, believed it all and Nigerians have stood with him. Let’s see if the 72year war veteran has what it takes to pull down tankers, spill blood and break the front of the enemy lines or not! For Africa and Nigeria’s sake, I hope he does!

Tonight, the lion goes to sleep. For the first time in history. The king of the Jungle has been displaced and what looms ahead can be catastrophic or gainful; it has everything to do with GMB. The APC coalition is one fragile one; the perks of its frivolity lies evident in the many disagreements leading to its formation. The GENERAL has a huge task to keep a united government and a united country. Its now or never….Nigeria must take its place amongst the rest of the world and lead Africa’s economic and political charge!

If he’s done it before, he will do it again. I only wish the good old general the very best of health and ‘good’luck(very necessary).

What will Goodluck Ebele Jonathan do? I envisage the easy going man moving to become a key statesman for country and the world. I doubt he will critique the government like Obasanjo did…neither will he return to lead the PDP again; truth be told…..Jonathan has been riding on the wheels of luck and gross ethnic pulling in his short political adventure. The time is rife for him to do other things…like finishing his PhD in the natural sciences he so much loves.

Patience Jonathan…..I will miss her like how I miss the warmth of my bed this rainy night. Her abuse of grammar and disregard for subject verb agreement is one I will not exchange for anything. At least we know traffic will ease small when the ‘former’ first lady hits the streets and her love for diamonds will diminish. Now Fashola’s wife can rest in peace….her name no longer a pull over for madam Jonathan. Congrats to Fashola the Governor…I am told he won…true or false…l like him.
