Hiplife musician Nana Kwaku Duah popularly known as Tic Tac has been elected the new Greater Accra regional Chairman of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA).

He was elected at a special MUSIGA seminar held at the MUSIGA headquarters in Accra Thursday.

Kwesi Ernest pulled out of the race at the last minute paving the way for a head to head contest between Tic Tac and Bernard Amankwah.

After the votes were counted, Tic Tac polled 55 while Bernard Amankwah polled 12 votes.

The music seminar which touched on music development in the region and the country in general was also used to collect the demo tapes for the MTN Hit Maker reality show.

An elated Tic Tac told Myjoyonline.com in an interview immediately after the results were declared that his win will bring a paradigm shift to the musicians body in the region.

He said “we are going to create domestic revenue so that we can be self sufficient.”

According to Tic Tac who also doubles as the National Director of Music Relations, this will be coupled with re-branding the image of the Greater Accra region “to make it visible musically.”

Six other executives were also elected for the region. Some the executives include Grace Ashy, Mildred Hason and Bright Quaye.

They were sworn into office by MUSIGA President Bice Osei Kuffour popularly known as Obour.
