US-Based Ghanaian Petroleum Researcher Awarded US$17.5M Energy Grant
This is indeed a step in the right direction as one Dr William Ampomah has been adjudged second amongst many proposals from dozens of petroleum engineering institutions in the United States of America.
Dr. William Ampomah is a Research Associate at Petroleum Recovery Research Center at New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology (New Mexico Tech), Socorro New Mexico, and a co-lead in the simulation working group for the US DOE-funded Southwest Regional Partnership on Carbon Sequestration project. Dr. Ampomah is the Program Chairperson for the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Roswell Section.
His research interests include developing multi-phase fluid flow numerical simulations, optimization of CO2 storage and oil recovery modeling, conduct geomechanical studies to investigate caprock integrity for CO2 storage and risk and uncertainty quantification.
Dr Ampomah will recruit more petroleum graduate students to embark on the project.
More soon.
