Use 1996 voters register for election 2020 – Sammi Awuku

The National Organiser for the ruling New Patriotic Party has added his voice to the discussion on whether or not to compile a new voters register ahead of the 2020 general elections.
Mr Sammi Awuku speaking on peace FM’s morning show on Monday morning said he finds the argument of the parties campaigning against the EC’s decision unsound and flawed.
Pointing out the flaws in their argument he said “the mere fact that a register has been successfully used to conduct an election doesn’t mean we should not change it. Why don’t we use the 1996 voters register for the 2020 elections since it was also used to conduct a successful election”.
The Inter-Party Resistance Against New Register (IPRAN) will hit the streets of Accra Tuesday, February 4th with a demonstration.
