USE YOUR EX-GRATIA TO SAVE JOBS – OKUDZETO ADVISES POLITICIANS

Member of Parliament For North Tongu and Ranking Member, Committee on Foreign Affairs. Former Deputy Minister, Ministry of Education, and Ministry of Information, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has advised his colleague politicians not to call for payments of their arrears but rather think about Ghanaians losing their jobs.
Last week the Auditor General leaked a document having a list of former Memebers of Parliament from 2001-2009 calling for payments of their salary arrears while they were in office. The list was sent to the Chief of Staff, Hon. Frema Akosua Opare and she referred it to the Auditor General for probing.
The Auditor-General investigated the figures and advised the state not to pay anything to the former Members of Parliament. The forum for Former Members of Parliament have since been agitating for the arrears.
“No politician should be agitating for ex-gratia arrears at this traumatic time.
Auditor General Daniel Domelevo is absolutely God sent and a true patriot.
The ex-gratia agenda should be immediately aborted and priority given to the masses who are losing jobs and livelihoods to COVID-19′ Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa wrote on his Facebook page.
