Jean Mensa’s led Electoral Commission (EC) has been finding it tough to convince all political parties in Ghana via Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) on the need to have a new Voters’ Register for the electorates before the December 7 General Election (both Presidential & Parliamentary elections).
According to some experts, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), National Democratic Congress (NDC), Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Conventions People’s Party (CPP), Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Ghana Union Movement (GUM) and other parties should sing the same song with the EC before things can be seen as normal. But as it stands now, the main opposition party, NDC and some others do not buy into the EC’s idea whilst the NPP and others are with the EC.
Reacting to the unfolding situation, the General Secretary of the NDC, Mr. Johnson Aseidu Nketsiah has warned the EC not to downplay their concerns regarding their opposite view on compiling new Voters’ Register.
The man who is fondly known as General Mosquito gave this stern warning to the EC on GHOne.
