Video: Omotola addresses #Povertyis$exist session at World Economic Forum

Influential Nigerian actress, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, has joined some of the worlds’ most prominent and credible female voices to put women and girls at the center of the global drive to eradicate extreme poverty by 2030.

The actress is attending the World Economic Forum in Cape Town, South Africa, where she is representing hundreds of African women to make striking economic empowerment arguments to world leaders attending the summit.

Omotola, who is a global ambassador of ONE’s #PovertyisSexist campaign, said she joined the movement because it offers her the opportunity to do what she is most passionate about.

“Women need help. We’ve always needed help… from the minute a girl child is born, she is already at a disadvantage,” she said.
She believes world leaders can help put the world on track to end extreme poverty, by empowering girls and women everywhere.
