VODAFONE ICONS MIXED EDITION TAKES OFF

Largely tipped as the ‘hottest music reality show’ in Ghana, the second edition of the much talked about Vodafone Icons took off on five major television networks across the country on Sunday 26 February at 7:30pm. The television stations involved are Metro TV, TV3, eTV Ghana, SkyyTV and Gh One.

The maiden broadcast of the Vodafone Icons Mixed Edition would take viewers down memory lane and bring to light the excitement that unfolded at all the auditions held across the country.

The Vodafone Icons Mixed Edition, which will run for 13 weeks, will discover, groom and showcase Ghana’s first mixed group to empower them pursue their music careers.

Viewers will be treated to the remarkable musical talent that ICONS will discover, the shocking revelations, the ups and downs and laughter and tears that will undoubtedly create a great reality show.

The twenty-four males and females chosen from auditions held across the country will form eight mixed groups to compete for the grand prize that includes a major record deal,  GH¢ 60,000 -a Kia Sorrento from RANA Motors and an exclusive performance at ‘020 live’, Vodafone Ghana’s annual music spectacular.

To top it off, Vodafone Ghana is crowning this year’s edition of Vodafone Icons with a line up of talented industry gurus who will bring their knowledge and experience to bear in coaching and grooming Ghana and Africa’s music heroes.

Judges include Gena West, a gospel music diva, Miss Naa of YFM’s Ryse and Shyne and Kwame Appiah Dankwah, popularly known as Apietus.

Benny Blanco of Atlantis Radio, known for his impressive voice and DJ skills on Ghana’s airwaves, will be returning for second season as the show’s host. Training the participants to churn unique sounds for their music is highly sought after Ghanaian born keyboard maestro, Kwame Yeboah.
