We are not organizing any elections if we don’t compile new register -EC

The election commission of Ghana has said they are going ahead with their registration at all cost regardless of the outbreak of coronavirus.

Speaking to Philip Osei Bonsu, the host of Asempa FM’s talk show Ekosiisen, the director of operations Dr. Serebour said the cannot use the old register because it is not credible.

“Even if we should go by the suggestions people are making that we should use the old register, the EC would still have to do a limited registration to capture the new voters. So their argument cannot hold because we would disenfranchise people when there’s no registration at all” he stated.

He further stated that as far as he’s aware, there is going to be a registration for a new voter’s register before the Electoral Commission can hold an election.

“Do you know that South Korea held an election yesterday? If it was possible there it would be possible here too because Ghanaians are not too indiscipline” he argued.
