What of the other tenets of democracy?

Welcome to Core Point on Ghanashowbiz. I chose to talk about democracy because today is Constitutional Day. I will be talking about the layman’s idea of democracy in Ghana.

As this year’s election draws closer, we will never ceased to hear the need to protect Ghana’s peace through a democratic free and fair election.
But, is democracy only about that?

And this is Core Point right here…why has Ghana’s democracy been reduced to only peaceful elections? What of the observance of rule of law, proper public accountability to the citizenry, separation of powers and checks and balances ?

Democracy should be a wholesome practice and not a ‘picky’ one !
