When a Man Loves A Woman to spice up Vals Day

The National Theatre is set to come alive with love as the much talked about musical drama, When a Man Loves a Woman, takes stage on Valentine’s Day.

This musical drama was originally produced in America and Australia, but has been re-written within the Ghanaian context with a new cast of characters.

The drama filled with love tells the story of a Ghanaian musician who returned to Ghana after 15 years of living and travelling all over the United States.

He returns home knowing very well he has been infected with a fatal illness, but conceals the truth from everyone. Gold digging women of Accra, hoping to win his affection and dreaming of returning to America with him, succumb to his seductive ways.

He gets involved with numerous women as he travels around Ghana, playing his music. Eventually, the truth comes out when his lies ended him at a dramatic crossroads of life.

When a Man Loves a Woman which is from the stables of Theatre Mirrors is a story about love and loyalty, trust and betrayal and the value of celibacy in a time of greed and promiscuity.

The drama is written and produced by Dr. Kabu Okai-Davies, a lecturer at the African University College of Communication (AUCC), and it features a talented cast of young actors and actresses who have promised patrons a never to be forgotten night of love.
