Whether there is coronavirus or not, we will still compile a new voters’ register -EC

A news release from the Electoral Commission of Ghana sighted by Ghanashowbiz.com indicates that nothing is stopping the EC from compiling a new voters’ register.

Going into election 2020, the electoral commission announced its plans to compile a fresh clean register. The electoral commission stated that the current one we have is not credible and is over-bloated.

Some opposition parties formed a coalition (IPRAN) to fight against the EC’s decision and staged a number of demonstrations across the country. After the presidents’ directives on social gatherings, it was the belief of the coalition that the EC will rescind its decision and went on social media with claims that the EC has canceled the compilation of the new register.

In the response of the Electoral commission below, the Electoral Commission has assured Ghanaians that, it will still go ahead with their plan.
