Who Will take the step: too much talk!
Whenever there are events organized there are usually issues arising from it but at the end of the day we see nothing done about it. In ghana most people organize events and try to honour entertainers. At the end of the day they end up rubbing some wounds instead of giving people honour which is their prime aim. When the shows are organized things are surely meant to go wrong but when the good outweighs the good then it becomes a problem.
The most popular is when awards given to a person which obviously doesn't deserve it? entertainment pundits sit and talk about these issues and then it ends there. Honestly they have nothing much to do but to pass on these grievances to the organizers and their audience. After taking up these issues what can be done to these organizers because there is no mechanism that monitors these events to bring them to order.
Who will take up the initiative to do something about these issues which affect the industry? Every year we have more than ten award events taking place and most of them come up with almost the same issues. Thus amounts to the fact that the arts industry doesn't have a united front which will check these things. Too many associations and boards which are not effective. This is evident because until now the arts industry have not been able to put up a united front to receive funds from government.
So who will make a positive move to stop all these embarrassment and discredit. At the just ended Ghana DJ Awards there have been so many concerns but the issues will go unattended just like the rest.
