Why did Kuami Eugene run away from the Ministry of God into secular music; Money or fame?

One of the extremely talented Ghanaian contemporary artists is Kuami Eugene of “Wele sebe kontomire/ open gate fame”. The young artist is the Ghana Vodafone Music Award (VGMA) Artist of the year.

He sings with an amazing voice and great lyrics which are loved by both the young and old. He is so fortunate to have the blessings of music legends like the venerable Amakye Dede, Dr. Paa Bobo, Gyedu Blay Amabuley etc for his good works.

Before the 2020 elections, he released a hit song with Sarkodie which generated a lot of controversy because of the political undertones which were loaded in the song by Sarkodie.

A flyer is going round on social media which has Kuami Eugene in his young days organizing a gospel event under the name of “EUGENE MARFO MINISTRIES”. He is believed to be the greatest Gospel artist that never was in Ghana.

The gospel fraternity lost the great talent in Kuami Eugene to something. Could it be fame or money or both?
