Why Must Kids Be Put Through Stress In School – Netizen Demands Answers

Education as a way of less knowledgeable person getting enlightened by a more knowledgeable person is one facet of life that needs much attention by all and sundry. A netizen has questioned why younger kids must be put through certain levels of stress all in the name of school. She made her case via a post on her official Facebook page.

Her post read;

***I was chatting with a friend who lives in Lagos with her family. Her 3 year old child was given an assignment to write something like an essay.

An essay?

A 3 year old?

I don’t get this thing with a lot of Nigerian schools that make them give LITTLE KIDS outrageous take home assignments.

In many Nigerian schools, in their kindergarten sections where they have kids as young as 3, they give them homework meant for 6 or 7 year olds.

At age 0-3; the ONLY things a child should be doing in school should be singing “Jesus loves the little children”, “If you are happy and you know clap your hands”, A, B, C, D…. and 1, 2, 3, 4. Then eating, pooping, sleeping, playing and dirtying their clothes. That’s okay for that stage of their lives. It’s just a few years. Let them live it!

I don’t know why BABIES of 3 or younger should be given assignments to write essays.

In Manitoba Canada; children start school at SIX!
Yes, a child can start school if they will turn six by August 31st or September 1st of that year.

In Nigeria, 6 year olds are already getting assignments to research why Nelson Mandela spent all those years in jail.

I don’t just get this.

There are many school owners on my list, and there are also many teachers on my list. Can you people tell us why you have to put kids through such?

At the end of the day, the parents of these kids get to serve these punishments you lots call take home assignments. No 3 year old can write an essay! It’s the parents that will write the essay.
And quite frankly, I personally do NOT want my 3 year old’s teacher to give me any homework.

What’s the sense in these unrealistic take home assignments? Why so much in a rush to make kids grow up?
