Today – 1/12/2019 is World AIDS Day.

The theme for the 2019 observance is “Ending the HIV/AIDS Epidemic: Community by Community.”

COMMON FACTS TO KNOW THIS DAY…

Human immunodeficiency virus infection and acquired immune deficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS) is a spectrum of conditions caused by infection with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).

Some of the ways HIV is spread from person to person include: through vaginal or anal sex — the most common route of transmission, especially among men who have sex with men. By sharing needles, syringes, and other items for injection drug use. By sharing tattoo equipments without sterilizing it between use. From Mother To Child Transmission…
