You will still see us around – Ghana Police Service warns
After the imposition of the partial lockdown by the president of Ghana three weeks ago, the Ghana Police Service with the Ghana Armed Forces did a joint operation to ensure people comply with the president’s directive.
Yesterday, during the president’s 7th address to the nation, he lifted the lockdown effective today. Ghanaians have mixed feelings about the president’s decision though. Some believe it came too early and others too ae of the conviction it is backed by science and data.
In a statement, the Ghana Police Service has assured citizens that it would remove all roadblocks but they would still be around to ensure proper social distancing.
“Hello wonderful family, a few hours from now you will see the road blocks in Greater Accra, Greater Kumasi, Tema and Kasoa pulled down. Security personnel will however continue to police Ghana’s borders. We will police public gathering and social distancing as well. Congratulations to all of us. Please, let all our actions be guided by our resolve to stop the spread of covid-19 in Ghana”, they wrote.
