The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) says it has no intention of sacking the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Madam Jean Mensa.

According to Bismark Aborbi, a member of the communication team of the NDC, it seems the EC boss is afraid of being fired when “we come to power and that is why she is rushing to compile a new voters’ register”.

Speaking on UTV’s late news bulletin, he said, “we are not going to sack you; you will still be the Electoral Commissioner when we come to power so you have all the opportunity to change the voters’ register another time . . . right now we are saying that this is not the time to compile a new register, the timing is wrong.”
