(Your Take): Should Those Who Break The Lockdown Directive Be Drilled, “Disciplined” Or Sent To Court?

Many security personnel are complaining bitterly as to how some Ghanaians are flouting the partial Lockdown directive from the President with impunity. Even though some of them have genuine reasons for going out of their various homes, others are also joking with the severity of the situation at hand.

Per the Executive Order backing the partial Lockdown, one could be charged with hefty sums of money to the tune of GHC12,000 – GHC60,000 or even serve a jail sentence of 4 years or more if they are found guilty in a court of competent jurisdiction.

The question now is simple; should the police and soldiers give these ‘recalcitrant’ citizens some strokes of the cane as punishment, ask them to exercise as punishment or take them to court when they break the rules?
