Nana Perbi And Friends Concert Takes Off

The much awaited national musical peace tour by gospel musician Nana Perbi and Friends took off in a grand style in Wa in the Upper West Region of Ghana last weekend.

When the team arrived in the region, there was a massive welcome party, after which they were carried on the motor bike making them feel as part of the people of the Regions which was a blazing experience of a lifetime.

On behalf of the regional minister, the MCE and MDD and other traditional and community leaders welcomed the team at the Jubilee Park in Wa and handed over to the team a PEACE symbol to carry on with the event.

On Sunday which was the day of the event, the musicians visited the Winners Chapel;Aposa, Pensa, Fountain Gate Chapel, Gamsu, Lighthouse Chapel, Christ Apostolic Church, Assemblies Of God among others.

Just as a tip of the iceberg, the congregation of the various churches were thrilled with the Southern Ambassadors giving out the best of their talents and ministry to them courtesy Nana Perbi and Friends.

Then came the nite with Nana Perbi & Friends which was the Climax in the Upper West Region. The show has been described as one of the most successful in the History of the region.

There was a Jazz session by the band interspersed with Cultural performances with a Peace Message by Pognaa Mwinyelle Dakura (A traditional Queen Mother) and the house of chiefs with music by Locals as well as remarks by District Regional Coordinator.

The nite also saw the crowning of the Peace King & Queen amidst display of Creative Peace Article by community members and comedy by P-KAY There was also a Peace Message by Deputy Regional Coordinator Ben Derry after which Stella Seal mounted the stage. Nana Perbi placed the icing on the cake with a unique performance The crowd remained at the venue chatting and fraternizing with each other for almost 2hrs
even after the program had ended.

The crowd has proposed to bring Nana Perbi & Friends back to the Upper West Region even when there is no election. The team is currently in the Upper East Region for their next show on Saturday October 20 at the Fountain Gate Chapel where the chief Imam has accepted to be
the special guest with the Regional Minister at the function.

From there, the peace tour will hit the Northern, Western, Central, Volta, Eastern, Sunyani and the Ashanti regions respectively. The final showdown is expected to be held in Accra on Sunday, the 2nd of December at the Tesano Baptist Church before the elections.

The tour will be used as an avenue to appeal to traditional and opinion leaders in the various communities to use their influence to educate the indigenes to shun away from political violence. The tour will feature seasoned and budding gospel artistes and other artistes from all over the country.

Some of these artistes include Stella Seal, Amy Newman, Selina Boateng, O.J, Nicholas Omane Acheampong, DSP Kofi Sarpong, Cece Twum and many more.
