What not to wear to work

One can be judged by the way he or she dresses, because our clothes speak volumes about who we are, and also contribute to other people’s perception of our professionalism.

Dressing to work has become one hot trend people are taking up. Ladies for instance combine two or more colours and dress stylishly all in the name of fashion to work. Though ladies look very beautiful and charming, in a serious working environment it is a big no?

How one dresses to work is very important but it seems ladies of today mix up hot colours for parties to work. Colours suitable for working environment are brown, white, blue, deep green and black.

Well it would be great if ladies abide by these tips.

One most important thing to avoid is too much makeup, working in a cooperate environment does not necessarily need heavy makeup, a light one will keep one going through the day.

Also, avoid repetition of clothes, one should try as much as possible not to repeat the same old clothes worn the previous day before people will suspect you didn’t sleep at home. Change it up a bit, either the skirt or top with a different look.

Low waist pants are also not presentable to work, tops can be tucked in a tucked-in shirt or belted jacket and still look great. Wearing super skimpy tops would always make you an easy target for office gossip from both men and women, which will almost always overshadow your work.

Bright and heavy jewelry are not good to wear to work, heavy jewelry creates noise and makes one uncomfortable during activities.

To add, clothes that are meant for weddings, night clubs or tropical vacations are not suitable for work .e.g. skinny jeans and crop tops can be worn best for parties but not for work. E.g. Long Chiffon dress with a hat will look great on a wedding not for work.
