74 suspected criminals arrested in a strategic swoop

The consistent use of drugs by a section of the teeming youth is currently serving as a headache for authorities, families, security services and all sane citizenry.

The Madina Police have luckily arrested 66 suspects from their various hideouts within Madina and its environs and Baatsona police grabbed eight suspects.

According to the police, the Madina Police were yet to screen the suspects but Baatsona Police had already screened the suspects to a total of six.

Things found on them were some quantities of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp (wee / bosam tawa / marijuana), tramadol and other harmful narcotic drugs.

Deputy Superintendent of Police, Effia Tenge – the Accra Regional Police Public Relations Officer said in an interview that the swoop was strategically conducted as a routine exercise to subdue criminal activities within targeted vicinities.
