Adom FM Music Chart (Week 22): Stonebwoy’s ‘Shuga’ rules

As the releases get more frequent every single day, the list of songs on the Adom FM Music Chart keeps getting tighter.

This week ‘Shuga’ by Stonebwoy featuring Beenie Man is topping the chart. The song which was at number four has seen a lot of plays

The song since its release in April, has been loved by many but other people have accused Stonebwoy of stealing lyrics from Shatta Wale’s ‘Strongman’.

At number two is Fameye’s ‘Nothing I Get’.

The young artiste in the song preaches against jealousy and envy, a message which many Ghanaians can relate to.

After ‘Nothing I Get’ is ‘No More’ by Kuami Eugene featuring Sarkodie.

The love song was released in 2018 as part of the artiste’s album Rockstar. However, the song rose to fame when the video was released in April 2019.

The song gathered over 100,000 views the first few hours after its release, first time in Ghana’s history.

‘Don’t Be Late’ by Kofi Mole has taken a step up to the fourth position.

Although the artiste has been accused of stealing the song (directly sampling of the UK rapper Hex’s ‘Canadian Drip’) fans are still going in strong for Kofi Mole. The people just keep falling over and over for the song.

At number five ‘Nobody’ by Kwesi Arthur and Mr Eazi. This song off the LFNKII album is swiftly winning the hearts of Ghanaians. At weddings, senior high school entertainments, parties, clubs, radio stations and lot other mediums this song is heard at least once.

Many people have been seen doing a mash-up, filmed in their cars singing and the latest that wowed Kwesi Arthur a video of students from Archbishop Porter Girls’ Senior High School seen jamming to the song at the entertainment.

The artiste offered to perform for the students to Mr Eazi also responded ‘invite me too’. The love for this song is massive and will stay with people for much longer than expected.

‘Kpo Keke’ by Stonebwoy featuring Medikal, Darkovibes, Kelvyn Boy and Kwesi Arthur has dropped three positions from its position. The song is at number six this week

At number seven is ‘Jama’ by DJ Mic Smith featuring Patoranking and Shaker.

‘Omo Ada’ by Medikal is at number eight this week. Although it has dropped after topping the chart six times in a row the song it still manages to get people on their feet anytime it plays.

At number nine is ‘Bad Energy’ by Guru featuring Kwesi Swat.

‘W’asue Me’ by Obaapa Christy is maintaining the tenth spot from the previous week.

Looks like the aim of ‘Nsenkyerene Nyankopon’ by 2019 VGMA Gospel Artiste of the Year Diana Hamilton is only up. The song is at number 11 this week two positions up from its position last week.

Maintaining the number 12 position is ‘Eno Be My Matter by Okyeame Kwame featuring Kuami Eugene. The song has been involved in some theft controversies but it is certainly not dampening people’s love for it.

It’s a massive drop for ‘Pilolo’ by Guilty Beatz, Mr Eazi and Kwesi Arthur. From number eight, the song is now at number 13.

Dope Nation has their single ‘Zanku’ at number 15 a step up from its position in week 21.

Samini’s ‘Rainbow’ is at number 15.

Taking a step up to number 16 is ‘Steve Wonder’ by Wendy Shay featuring Shatta Wale.

‘Mr. Badman’ by KiDi is maintaining its 17 spot.

Making its debut appearance on the chart at number 18 is ‘Asew’ meaning in-law by Bisa Kdei.
