Anita Oduro back again with another play ATM

imagesShe caught public attention last November at the National Theatre with The Perfect Man, which she wrote and directed, and playwright, Anita Oduro, is back with another play titled, ATM (Automatic Teller Machine).

Produced by Royale Hauteur in partnership with Graphic Showbiz and Exclusive Men’s Magazine ATM is scheduled to show at the Folks Place of the National Theatre on Saturday, April 17, and Sunday, April 18, at 6.00p.m. and 8.00p.m. each night.

The hilarious play is about some young university graduates and the extent they would go to make some money. Fresh out of school and without any real skills or capital to start a legitimate venture of their own, they decide to use their smartness to defraud people.

They claim the World Bank has introduced a new banking system which makes it necessary for all ATM cards to be laminated before they can be used. Some people fall for their trick and the young men are able to fleece them of some cash in the process.

Detectives are set on their trail but can they catch up with the three smart graduates?

“This is a satire not only set to identify some of the flaws in our educational and work place systems but also tailored to make the audience laugh,” says Ms Oduro, a graduate from the Department of Theatre Arts of the University of Cape Coast.

“My first play, The Perfect Man, was about the intricacies of romantic love but this time around, we are forcefully stepping into the world of work, money and street smartness,” Ms Oduro states.
