Asamoah Gyan Retire From National Team Because Of Captaincy

Ghana’s most served captain, Asamoah Gyan has announced his permanent retirement from the National team after his name was listed among AFCON 23 squad.
According to him, his retirement is based on the decision of the coach giving his captaincy to another player for a tournament while he has been name among the players.
In a press statement copied to Lupslive.com , he stated clearly that he cannot be happy about such decision after serving the nation with all his best both physical and financially.
He emphasized that he respect the coach’s decision as his retiring will be the best move.
Asamoah Gyan, expressed that his decision over the retirement came up after seeking consultation from his family and team.
The currently active overseas players started playing for the National team in the year 2003 and has partaken in various tournaments like Olympics, World Cup and African Cup of Nations.
