I looked for the meaning of DISAPPOINTMENT in the dictionary and this was what I got — sadness or displeasure caused by the non-fulfilment of one’s hopes or expectations.
Dealing With Disappointment:
The question begging for answers in my tiny brain is whether we sometimes embrace disappointment because of our over expectations or they just happen to us.
There are several warning signs that we ignore at times because we feel invincible to failure. The bottom line, however, is to make sure we can cope when we do not have what we anticipate from families, friends, colleagues, partners, etc.
Many harbour the notion that in order to dodge disappointment, we must limit or subdue our expectations from others. How well do you subscribe to such analogy?
Could there be more than meets the eye in such disappointed instances where we knew and suspected that we could be ignored but still went ahead to place more hopes?
How many times have you jumped over disappointment(s) or prevented it entirely? Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
