The Ghanaian rapper and fashion designer is one of the most successful hiplife artist in Ghana. He is known for his contemporary hiplife rap style that combines English and Ghanaian indigenous languages such as Bono, Asante Twi, Akuapem Twi, Fante and others. He is also noted for coining certain key terms such as “Alkayida”, “Lapaz Toyota to refer to beautiful girls”, “Kaseibo Diss” and so on. In fact, he is noted as the pioneer Bono rapper and the only successful rapper from the then Brong Ahafo Region.
Netizens know how Guru has released a supposed diss track for Lynx Entertainment signee, Kuami Eugene aka Rockstar because of their recent banter. Whilst others chastised Kuami Eugene over what they termed as disrespect to the brand of Guru of NKZ fame, others also claimed Guru’s impact in the music scene has diminished and so he should give way for the new Kings.
Well, this is my take on all this brouhaha — personally, I think Guru should just maintain his cool and not fight Kuami Eugene because Kings come and go but the legacies they leave behind serve as the hallmark for the remembrance of their mark till eternity.
What do you make of this? Do you think it is even right for Guru to fight someone who is a junior bro and could even be a son to him?
