Funky Mallam becomes a Daddy

After several years of waiting  upon the Lord,  popular Nigerian comedian with the Hausa accent, Funky Mallam, has finally joined the league of fathers.

In an SMS sent to Showtime on the 26th of February, 2011, the Funky Mallam broke the news of his wife’s delivery of  a baby boy at about 1am in the morning.

“God is the greatest. He has just blessed us today with a baby boy. I give God the glory for at last making me a proud father”.

Affirming his sms later in a chat, the soft spoken comedian expressed his joy and gratitude to God for the gift of a son.

“ The baby  is one of the most exciting thing that has happened to me. Since they(wife and baby) came back from the hospital, I’ve been spending time caring and helping with the baby because I don’t want my wife to do it all alone. I’m just happy being a father.”

The child we gathered has since been Christened and named Ayaz Saheed Mohammed.

Funky Mallam is an actor and a comedian. He made his debut into the music industry with Binta Ni Ke so an album launched in 1999. But he isn’t much of a successful singer than he is with acting and comedy.
