Ghana Needs A National Dev

Communications Director for the Conventional People’s Party, Benjamin Nsiah, has asserted that the country will continue to waste state resources and deliberately suffer from abandoned projects if a development plan is not swiftly drafted.

Explaining further, he mentioned that lots of projects by previous governments have been left to rot and cause financial lose to the state all because it is not part of a new administration’s agenda.

Commenting on the Auditor-General’s advice to the Ghana Highway Authority calling it to stop the implementation of projects which does not have secured and available funding capable of meeting all projected costs following a finding that the state lost $23.8million in compensation costs for delays in paying the contractor undertaking lots five and six of the Eastern Corridor Road, Mr. Nsiah noted that this country will continue to suffer such occurrences until a permanent blueprint of what the next government should focus on per its developmental projects is set at stake.

Ghana needs a development plan that should be followed by every government that comes to power, with a concrete law backing it that no government can embark on any project aside what is put on paper no matter the circumstance. Otherwise NDC and NPP will concentrate on projects that will satisfy their campaign promises to keep them in power but will continue to stagnate the country’s progress,” he said.

Speaking on UTV’s ‘Adekye Nsroma’ newspaper discussion show, the CPP communicator stated that he is very sure “the outbreak of Coronavirus disease [COVID-19] in China will directly affect Ghana’s year of roads project”.
