Gospel Musicians Who Do Cover Songs Must Be Separated
An entertainment pundit Big Rock Of incredible entertainment has said that gospel musicians who don’t write their own songs shouldn’t be allowed to be in the same category as those who wrote their own songs. Big Rock manages Paulina Oduro, Prince David Osei, and others. He shared this view with Sammy Flex on his show. He believes that writing a song is not any easy thing to do and when these two categories are put in the same category it’s not fair. In Ghana most gospel musicians take people songs or old church hymns and do a cover of it to win awards. He choose gospel musicians because they are the ones who often commit this act.
His intellectual view on the issue is that they should be separate from each other to be fair to the musicians. In Ghana most gospel musicians don’t write their own songs. They just pick other peoples songs and change a few things about it and make it their own. This is a good cause which must be promoted. The Ghana Music Awards has been open for nominations and this is in the right direction to alert the event organizers.
