Gyedu-Blay Ambolley Was Right On What He Said About Women’s Backside
In one of the songs of the legendary musician, songwriter, producer, and composer, Gyedu-Blay Ambolley made a quick comment about the backside of women in Fante. The remark read, “Besia ne akyir h) no biibi hy3 h)”, to wit “there is something behind women”. This is one of the things that has always kept men around women all the time. The butt, just like the breast, is one of the features which makes men go gaga.
As a Fante, I have grown to like Wofa Gyedu-Blay Ambolley because of this single comment from him. Gyedu-Blay Ambolley is a legend because he is said to be the first musician from Ghana and the world to formally incorporate rap forms into local highlife rhythms. He created the musical genre “Simigwa”.
Well, the legend was right about the backside of women.
