Highlife Legend Kwadwo Akwaboah Gets Support From Vitamilk At “Love Nite” Concert

The much anticipated ‘Vitamilk Valentine Love Nite’ featuring Kwaisey Pee and friends finally took place on Saturday, after being postponed from its original date, with special surprise act, Kwadwo Akwaboah receiving a special assistance from the sponsors, Vitamilk.

The legendary highlife musician made a surprise appearance at the concert performing his classic hit song “Face to Face’ much to the delight of the audience. He was later joined by Kwabena Kwabena, who the singer referred to as his son, to perform one of the most loved Ghanaian love songs to date, ‘Awre Kyikyire’. Kwabena Kwabena also described the highlife icon as his father and an inspiration for most Ghanaians musicians that do ballads.

Kwadwo Akwaboah, a talented pianist and singer belongs to a family of great talents. His father, Kwabena Akwaboah was a revered highlife musician, teacher and mentor to many of Ghana’s great musicians. His son, Kwabena Akwaboah Junior is also a prolific songwriter and performer with an upcoming album under his belt.

After his performance at Saturday night’s event, the musician who is currently suffering from glaucoma received a surprise support from Vitamilk which promised to foot his medical bills towards the restoration or improvement of his eyesight.

The concert also saw performances from Kwaisey Pee, Nana Fynn, Nana Tuffour, Efya, Kwabena Kwabena and K.K Fosu. It was hosted by funnyman and politically incorrect singer, A-Plus who entertained the crowd with his wit. Other highlights included radio and TV star, Abeiku Santana dancing azonto on stage, Kwaisey Pee singing to perhaps his biggest fan in the auditorium and more.
