Graduates of the Ho School Of Hygiene are very confused as a result of their inability to be posted by the government after their successful completion.
In a documentary monitored by JOY NEWS, two alumni (Sarah and Jack – not their real names) were almost in tears because of this situation. The female graduate (who graduated in 2018) revealed that she had to resort to doing laundry for some households in order to get a chicken change to fend for herself since she does not want to “prostitute” around for survival.
The male graduate (who also completed in 2017) was seen in the video loading “ice blocks” into a near by fridge in a shop. When he was asked to share how he survives, he looked really down hearted but gathered the courage to explain that he goes to the shop to help his wife in selling ice water in order to make ends meet.
The interviewer asked these graduates to share their worries and without mincing words, they both reminded the NPP led government that they promised them of recruitment during their 2016 electoral campaigns since the aforementioned school is a public tertiary institution under MOH (Ministry Of Health).
Many people are with the opinion that instead building more public tertiary institutions, such funds should be channelled into industrialization to help reduce the rate of graduate unemployment in Africa.
