I got GetFund Scholarship for my poor and needy son – Asiedu Nketia
The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress Johnson Asiedu Nketia who is popularly known as General Mosquito has reacted to the ongoing Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) scandal.
The country is currently trying to come to terms with a surprising expose from the GETFund. A report by the Auditor General has revealed how politicians have been using their power and intelligence to outsmart GETFund, an educational fund meant to give out scholarships to the brilliant but needy students in Ghana.

Politicians like the Minister of Education, Mathew Opoku Prempeh (Napo), MP for Dome Kwabenya – Hon. Adwoa Safo and NaCCA boss – Dr Prince Hamid Armah have all been named amongst the politicians who have benefited from the fund meant for the needy students from deprived areas in Ghana.
To make matters worse, we’ve just learned that the son of Asiedu Nketia is also a beneficiary of the GETFund.
Reacting to the scandal on Adom Fm’s ‘Dwaso Nsem’, Asiedu Nketia said his son was needy when he applied for the scholarship.
He added that the public should not blame politicians but rather blame the Board of Directors of GETFund who approved their “greedy” requests.
