His disappointment is due to the failure of the body to reprimand highlife musician KK Fosu who alleged that 99 percent of musicians smoke wee.
Speaking on Adom FM’s Entertainment Hall show hosted by Mike’2′ last Saturday, Omane Acheampong, said MUSIGA, the body responsible for the welfare of musicians should have condemned the comment in no uncertain terms and scolded the KK Fosu for being the name of the industry into disrepute.
“I am highly disappointed in Obour as the President of MUSIGA not even coming out to condemn such disgraceful and defamatory comments but sit down unconcerned for such comment to travel so far to disgrace almost entire musicians”, he fumed.
The gospel musicians said though he received a lot backlash from the public, his threat to sue the highlife artiste pushed him (KK) to apologize for the unfortunate comment.
“The authorities must be up and doing and stop following what is unnecessary, travelling from one outside country to another is not main core mandate”, he urged.
While accepting KK’s apology, Omane Acheampong advised the leadership of MUSIGHA to always bring such people to order to avoid tarnishing the industry’s image.
He also cautioned all musicians especially KK Fosu to be circumspect in their comment when granting interviews.
