Harden visits with Meek during Rockets’ east coast trip.
The Houston Rockets are on the east coast this week for games against the Boston Celtics and Washington Wizards, which allowed James Harden an opportunity to visit Meek Mill at the State Correctional Institution in Chester, Pennsylvania.
Harden then gave fans an update on Meek’s status via social media shortly after visiting with him on Tuesday.

The All-Star guard posted on social media,
“Got a chance to see my bro Meek Mill today. His spirit is high and hopefully we can get him out by February,” Harden wrote.
“Told me to tell y’all when he get out he got some (fire) for y’all.”
Harden and the Rockets will take on the Celtics in Boston tomorrow night as part of the NBA on TNT’s nationally televised double-header. The Beard will reportedly lace up a special edition of his signature shoe, the Adidas Harden Vol. 1, which has “Free Meek” displayed across the upper.
Meek Mill has received an outpouring of support from athletes and celebrities since being incarcerated, and has most recently been visited by Sixers owner Michael Rubin, as well as Joel Embiid and Colin Kaepernick. In fact, Rubin has reportedly visited Meek several times over the last month and he recently reiterated that his spirits are high, given the circumstances.
“His spirits are about as good as they could be in jail,” Rubin tells Billboard “He’s smiling, he’s positive and he’s really very appreciative of all the support he’s gotten… from Al Sharpton, Colin Kaepernick, Kevin Hart, all these people supporting him on social media.”
