KOD Throws $10,000 Party

Unlike some parts of the world where celebrity parties are usually characterised by gunshots and brawls, a huge birthday party organized by Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD) on Saturday evening at his home in Dansoman, ended on a good note.

KOD, is a broadcast journalist, music producer, artistes’ manager, events’ organizer, a showbiz icon as well as a celebrity and the News-One newspaper gathers he spent an estimated $10,000 on last Saturday’s bash. It was a joint birthday celebration of KOD, Sexy Tinny and Velma.

They turned 33, 27 and 30 years of age in that order. The party was an all-black one and was marked with glitz and glamour. It was a night of stars and celebrities. Indeed, it was a huge and expensive party. There was live band stand, constant flow of expensive wines of all colours and tastes from Australia and South Africa, countless cartons of Vodka, Whiskey, Brandy, Rum, Gin, Irish Cream and other drinks as well as khebab stand among others.

Present at the ceremony were top showbiz icons and politicians. Among them were Bola Ray, Sammy B, Papa sly, Mark Okraku Mantey, Samini, Tagoe Sisters, Beverly Afaglo, Kwasi P, Kofi B and Kwabena Kwabena. Kofi Boakye, Gabby Okyere Darko, among others were all there. Paapa Yankon took patrons on a dance thrill with performances from his repertoire.

After singing with him, KOD, Sammy B and Papa Sly took advantage of Paapa Yankson’s song to show off some interesting dance steps that caught everybody’s eye. Samini also tried to be his highlife best as he did a couple of moves to impress his followers. As at the time News-One left the party, other celebrities were yet to show their faces with more artistes to perform.
