‘Kwame Nkrumah is not a Ghanaian but a Liberian’ – Old Politician, Joshua Attoh Quarshie says
An old Gold Coast politician in the person of Joshua Attoh Quarshie, has alluded to the fact that Dr. Kwame Nkrumah is not Ghanaian but rather a Liberian born to a Liberian dad – Kofi Nwia, and Nyaniba, the woman we have been reading in the history books as his mother isn’t her biological mum but rather adopted Kwame Nkrumah when he landed on the shores of Ghana.
In an interview on CitiTV, he said: “Nkrumah is Liberian and not Ghanaian… his original name is Nwia, Francis Nwia… no one knows his mother… Nyaniba was a barren woman who had no child and they used to carry some sticks at the back…”
The Gold Coast politician further revealed that Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah did not have siblings and his actual mother is not known to date.
