Nana Quame’s “Akye” not doing well

Latter part of last year we had an interview with Nana Quame and he told us he had come to stay in Ghana for good. Nana Quame was lost in the music scene for about seven years and came back with a song entitled Akye featuring Samini. For an experienced and successful musician like him most people thought the song was going to make serious waves but obviously not. It has died down so fast and we didn’t hear of it and neither did we hear about him performing during this festive season. The song Akye is quite a good song but has a little feel of adult music which is not really what people are used to when it comes to Nana Quame. Which is not suprising because during the interview he said this time around he wants to make more danceable tunes for his fans.
Ghanaians expected much from his camp because even his old songs are still nice tunes that are played everywhere and they expect nothing less from him. In our interview last year he told us that God guided him into choosing Samini to make this song but we haven’t seen any divine touch and we are hoping to see it soon. He also told us of a plan to have self-empowerment seminars for upcoming artiste and those already in the ball game to help improve Ghanaian music. We are hoping to see these developments and also feel his presence in the music industry as well.
