NDC VEEP Race: We Need Asiedu Nketia, Not A ‘Bawumia-like’ VEEP
Adding to the clarion call is the Parliamentary Candidate for Jaman South, Mr. Williams Okofo Dartey.
According to him, for the party to win 2020 elections, they need someone who has clean political track records and can win the heart of many Ghanaians.
A statement signed by Williams Okofo–Dateh noted that it has become imperative for them to have strong formidable mechanisms to win the 2020 polls.
“The providential one whose political prime of life, graveness and unswerving plans to rekindle the party structures towards 2020 general elections is Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC),” he said.
He has therefore made a passionate appeal to the NDC Kingmakers not to choose someone in the realm of His Excellency Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President who will only talk to impress, rather a matured politician who delivers to perfection.
Mr. Okofo–Dateh contended that since the General Secretary has what it takes to bring all factions together, it would be wise for the party to make no mistake by choosing him if the party indeed wants to recapture power and return to the Jubilee House after the 2020 polls.
“We cannot look beyond a politician in the race to the Jubilee House as we search for a running mate. . . we can search for that soul in the person of Mr. Asiedu Nketiah”.

DO NOT CHOOSE BAWUMIA LIKE VICE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE FOR US, HE IS A RHETORICIAN.
The race for veep position is brewing and many are the names that are popping up every day. I just want to make an appeal to our kingmakers not to choose someone in the realm of His Excellency Dr. Mohamudu Bawumia the Vice President. So much was professed about his Excellency Mohamudu Bawumia and his economic prowess as an opposition vice-presidential candidate but little did we know that he is just a rhetorician, he only talks to impress.
He is dishonest- Bawumia only plays with figures to suit his interest or favour his agenda. In fact, he is disingenuous he refuses to accept his flaws and resort to making selective references and comparisons. He never compares likewise data or figures. He does that with the aim of looking good in the eyes of the public but always ends up shamefully exposed. We are even struggling to catch a glimpse of the running dollar. He is a total failure,- his administration has never met the revenue target for the years that he has been in office.
Borrowing has become his hallmark, a practice he consistently criticized when he was in opposition. He is always trying to defend the indefensible and making a mockery of himself. His own GPS cannot even locate him. He has succeeded in bringing the office of the vice president into disrepute. It is a visible fact that NPP is going into opposition because of the non-performing vice president. I, therefore, do not see the need to choose someone in the resemblance of the failed economic guru. He may be a good banker but a failed politician.
I want to encourage our kingmakers to consider a politician in that position. Vice president John Dramani Mahama was an excellent choice and his candidature won us power and he delivered to perfection to the point of going ahead to win power as a president even when it was a few months to the general election. We cannot look beyond a politician in the race to the jubilee house as we search for the running mate. We can search for that soul in the person of Mr. Asiedu Nketiah
He is well baked. He has experienced it all as a political player, he understands the job.
He is well cut for the job. He is ready and prepared. Smart and always proactive.
He is a commoner- he identifies with everyone and not bossy. He will not lord over us. He knows and understands the problem of the ordinary Ghanaian.
He is a local and cultural type. He knows every nooks and cranny of the country and understands local developmental issues and how to solve them. In fact, he is likable and his candidature can win us a lot of votes from his region.
He is a KAADA and complements the NDC tradition with Mahama as a congress. He is super intelligent. He always brings finality to problems. He has an impressive CV and his integrity is intact. He has done it in many political positions and in all he discharged himself diligently and progressed to a different level where he has all the time achieved an enviable feat.
Let’s try and free ourselves from the slogan or relics of an economist occupying the position of a vice-presidential candidate. At least His Excellency, the vice president Bawumia has disappointed us all and if I can remember very well the late vice president Aliu Mahama and vice-president Mahama had something in common, they were both not economists but played their role diligently and achieved a relatively better outcome.
