Otumfuor’s wife holds party for needy children
Lady Julia Osei Tutu, the wife of the Asnatehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has held an annual reception at Manhyia Palace, Kumas for the orphanages in the Ashanti Region to show her motherly care to the unfortunate children in the Homes.
The party, organized by the Serwaa Ampem Foundation whose Executive Director is Lady Julia, was aimed at making the children feel at home during the Christmas holidays.
The six hundred needy children were drawn from the Kumasi Children’s Home, King Jesus Home, New Life Home and Cherubu Orphanage Home.
The children were served with food, sweets and soft drinks, and given toys with recorded musical entertainment.
Lady Julia praised the staff and mothers of the homes for the sacrificial and humanitarian services to the needy children in the orphanage homes in the country.
She called on Ghanaians to show compassion, concern and sympathy towards needy children by helping to provide for their upkeep.
Lady Julia advised the children to be obedient to the mothers in the homes to win more sympathy and compassion from them to enhance the care being given to them.
