It is an open secret as to how many people across the globe are doubting the very existence of the Novel Coronavirus.
In Africa, the “Doubting Thomases” are more because they feel the system isn’t transparent enough.
A quick search on social media will reveal how Nigerians are arguing about the nonexistence of the virus in plain tweets, posts and so forth.
In Ghana’s case, rumours going around indicate that people are deliberately disregarding the precautionary measures in an attempt to test positive for the COVID-19.
Why are they doing this?
To some, they want to verify if indeed the virus exists as it’s being speculated. Others also have the notion that the COVID-19 patients are enjoying themselves with tax payers money in the isolation centres (free food, accommodation, etc).
But, why would any sane person belong to any of the aforementioned group of persons?
