Stomach Chiefs & Leaders Have Failed, Ankobra River & Others Depleted Over Galamsey – Afia Schwar

Renowned TV personality, comedienne and socialite, Valentina Nana Agyeiwaa aka Afia Schwarzenegger has lambasted the chiefs in the Ankobra area for their negligence over the water bodies due to their stomach and inability to stop illegal mining in their vicinities.

Afia Schwar made this known via a Facebook post.

Afia Schwarzenegger wrote:

“This is the current state of the Ankobra River.

There are chiefs and leaders who are responsible for the river but unfortunately, they think of only their stomachs, they don’t care about anything. Its sad.”

This isn’t the first time a popular personality is airing his or her views over the environmental degradation, destruction of rivers and other environmentally unfriendly activities due to galamsey.

Also, a concerned resident of Adjeikrom, Banaso and its environs have bemoaned the deteriorated rivers in the areas because of galamsey.

From deep throat sources, some high political office holders in the above-mentioned towns within the Enchi area in Western North are allegedly conspiring with some Chinese nationals to carry on with galamsey.

According to the informant, illegal mining is still taking place as of the time of filing this report.
