The offline English app on my phone defines the word “absurd” as ‘Contrary to reason or propriety; obviously and flatly opposed to manifest truth; inconsistent with the plain dictates of common sense; logically contradictory; nonsensical; ridiculous; silly’.

I am in no way belittling the doctrines of Christians through this write up but I am just dumbfounded as to how some pastors are seen as God himself : forcing church members to follow every single command out of their supposed sacred mouths !

Some African pastors who man their own churches such as Archbishop Duncan Williams, Pastor Mensa Otabil, Bishop Agyin Asare and others are really doing great works but some are also surprising us on daily basis.

In Ghana, the term spiritual directive is popularly known in Twi as ‘akwankyer£’. The kind of directives that some of these self acclaimed men of God give to their congregants are simply absurd in nature.

Some are asked to eat grasses, stripped naked, others are kissed or beaten during church services whilst others are commanded to eat live snakes and so on and so forth.

I have taken the time to compile some of these abnormal spiritual directives below;

After going through these insane pics, you’re probably as shocked as I am now.
I just wonder how some of these congregants reason or are they placed under some magical spells?
