Ursula Owusu Is Not Responsible For Your Deficiency In Comprehension
It would be charitable to use a phraseology with effects more lessened than animosity to describe how these people feel about her.
Suffice it to say that the twisting of her statements to suit bad motives did not begin with the latest plot in town. It had its genealogy from a few years back.
Prior to the 2016 general elections, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, expressing her views on why Free SHS should be embraced by the electorate, used two scenarios to drum home her point.
Using herself as an example, she said that but for education, she would have been selling charcoal as that was what her mother was into.
She could not fathom why the NDC, especially, Mahama and the other NDC bigwigs who hailed from the three Northern Regions would present themselves as obstacles in the education of all Ghanaians. To her, but for similar opportunities most of the NDC top guns would be herding cattle because that was what most of their parents were into.
This harmless analogy was massaged, the portion referring to she herself expunged from the conversation and the cattle herding part propagated to create the impression that she had denigrated the people from that part of the country.
Fast forward, the Communications Minister went to the studios of Asempa FM, got interviewed by Philip Osei Bonsu on Ekosii Sen on a wide range of topics.
Ursula, in the interview, emphasized that the NDC ran down the economy and it has taken the Akufo-Addo administration a great deal of energy and efforts to put the country back on track.
To this, she said what is lost and destroyed is gone, the rest are being guarded, and that the NDC would not come back to send the country into the doldrums the Akufo-Addo administration found and rescued it from.
This statement is being twisted by the NDC, sending the signal out there that Ursula Owusu had said she holds their destiny in her hands when she had not said that.
One may ask what reasons precipitate such violent hatred they feel for Ursula Owusu-Ekuful. I will give you a few;
● They more than hate her guts.
● She gives them headaches if not nightmares
● She doesn’t suffer fools gladly.
● She is a hard nut to crack
● She is too intelligent for them to handle and bully.
● The clampdown on two NDC-affiliated radio stations which had flouted the laws governing their operations with impunity.
These are some of the reasons why these people are always lurking in the shadows with the expressed intention of waylaying her every word or expression.
What Ursula Owusu-Ekuful can do is to continue speaking her mind and expressing her views on issues of national interest.
What Ursula Owusu-Ekuful cannot do is to imbibe in the NDC comprehension skills to understand what she says.
She cannot, therefore, be held responsible for their insufficiency with respect to comprehension in any language or dialect.
