Dep. Minister Designate – Dzifa Gomashie Raises Alarm Over Lack of Info. On Ghana’s Tourist Sites

471025803_168446The Deputy Minister designate for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts Dzifa Abla Gomashie has said most Ghanaians especially the youth haven’t been given the opportunity to know the stories behind the various tourist sites in the country.

She made this known at her vetting on Wednesday April 17. Gomashie answered questions on issues ranging from the impact she hopes to make at the ministry, to her top five tourist sites in Ghana among others.

The Deputy Minister of Education and Member of Parliament for the North-Tongu constituency Samuel Okudzeto-Ablakwa couldn’t hide his excitement over the nominee’s appointment, and said her contributions to the creative arts industry in Ghana, makes her the obvious candidate.

She touched briefly on the proliferation of the media, and why it must be sanitised. “We should take a look at the things we allow on our airwaves so our children don’t fall on the wayside”.

Gracefully dressed in African print with beads carefully placed around her neck, Gomashie remained confident and calm throughout her vetting. She promised to work hard to justify the President’s decision to nominate her.

Present to support her were family relations, some members of the creative arts industry and traditional leaders.
