Wiyaala drops World Cup Song for the Black Stars

Wiyaala’s newest single, Go Go Black Stars…Goal! released on the Djimba World Record label, features tribal drums, stadium choruses, three Ghanaian languages as well as English.

The song was inspired by SuperSport’s anchorman Yaw Ampofo Ankrah after he saw Wiyaala sing at a fashion show in Accra and suggested she write a song for the Black Stars.

The singer, who is currently in South Africa recording the final tracks for her 2014 album said “I wrote the song with Ghanaians in mind.

“I hope it helps to inspire not only the Black Stars, but each of us to face every challenge with courage and determination to succeed against the odds. Our footballers are in a tough group, but with God’s help they will prevail and raise the flag of Ghana high.”
