7 Nominations to Pascal AKA “Ghana Movie Awards 2014”

After a prolonged absence from the music video scene, ace director and CEO of Breakthrough Media Productions, Pascal Aka, has gathered 7 nominations at this year’s Ghana Movie Awards with the feature film “Double-Cross” and the popular short film “Ghana Police”.

Earlier this year, his critically acclaimed “Mr.Q”, starring Jeffrey Forson, won the award for “Best Short Film” at the Accra Francophone Film Festival. In addition, Cwesi Oteng’s “Count your blessings” music video won Best Gospel Video at the 4syte TV Music Video Awards.

“Double-Cross” a romantic thriller starring Ama K Abebrese and John Dumelo, is the first Ghanaian movie directed by Pascal Aka. The film has been nominated for Best Director, Best Picture, Best Actress (Ama K Abebrese), Best Make-Up, Best Editing and Best Cinematography (a nomination Aka shares with his student Prince Dovlo).

In addition, the popular “Ghana Police” short film starring Remy Q and Jeffrey Forson was nominated for “Best Short Film”.

After bringing us classic music videos such as E.L’s “Obuu Mo”, “Turn The Lights Down”, “Kaalu” and D-Black’s “Oh Vera”, the announcement of these movie award nominations makes Pascal Aka, at 29, the most versatile director in Ghana that has successfully balanced his creativity between the music industry and the movie industry.

His company Breakthrough Media Productions is currently prepping to produce/release more music videos and movies in the next few months.
